This tour will take you beyond the bustle of the city out into the real Catalonia.
Beginning in the neighbourhood of El Born on the edge of the medieval city, this tour will make its way north into the foothills of the Serralada Litoral.
As you leave the city, you’ll pass by the imposing Ximeneies de Sant Adrià, some of the last remnants of awesome industrial capacity that earned Barcelona the epithet of
the ‘Manchester of Spain’. You’ll continue up the coast, all the time hugging the tranquil, undulating Mediterranean, and pass through the seaside towns Badalona,
Montgat and Masnou. From there, you’ll take sharp turn inland and begin to make your way uphill.
As you near Alella, you’ll begin to see some the majestic buildings that once belonged to those Catalans who made their fortunes in the Americas. Once in the town, you’ll
begin to wind your way through the narrow streets towards Bouquet d’Alella, the smallest vinyards to be awarded a Denomination of Origin (D.O) in Spain. There, you’ll
get to sample some of the best wines the region has to offer.
After this well needed repast, you jump back on your eBikes once again to make your way back to the metropolis. By the time you’re back, you’ll have come to realise that
the richness Barcelona has to offer is not to be found only in the urban area but also outside in the surrounding towns.
