Overview

Barcelona is undoubtedly one of the most unique and multifaceted cities in the world. So it is no surprise that it also produced one of the most unique and multifaceted architects in world history: Antoni Gaudí. And if you really want to come to grips with an imagination as vast and as complex as his, a simple three hour tour is simply not enough. For that reason, we offer the Full day Bike Tour!

On this tour, you will get to know the whole city from top to bottom. You’ll begin in El Born, where you’ll see one of the first projects that the young student of architecture ever worked on, as well as exploring some of the hidden foundations of the Catalan identity that inflected every aspect of Gaudí’s work throughout his career.

From there, you’ll cross over into the Parc de La Ciutadella (Park of the Citadel) to see some of the architect’s first public works and to aget a sense of the artistic milieu in which Gaudí came of age.

After that, you’ll make your way towards the awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia. Once at the site of Gaudí’s magnum opus, your guide will give you all the information you need to be able to appreciate the wonder of the modernist world at your own pace.

Once you’ve had a moment to recover your breath, it will then be time to head up to Park Guell – and you’ll soon discover why the only way to get there is on eBike!

Not only does the park contain some of Gaudí’s most iconic work, it also boasts spectacular views of the city. Take the time to breath it all in as you wander through the modernist arches nestled amidst the mediterranean pines. Once you’ve had your fill, you’ll find your guide waiting with your bike and you’ll be able to wind your way back down through la Vila de Gràcia, home to one of Gaudí’s earliest buildings, Casa Vicens. You’ll then wind your way down through the neighbourhood of Eixample to one of Europe’s most famous avenues: el Passeig de Gràcia.

It is here that your guide will show you two of Gaudí’s most iconic buildings. At the Casa Milà, you’ll find out why this comparatively austere façade is regarded by some as the architect’s most innovative works, and why the man after whom the building is named wasn’t best pleased by the project. After that, you’ll continue down this grandiose street to see what is possibly Gaudí’s most emblematic work, Casa Batllò. At this last stop, you’ll learn why the building, along with its neighbours, came to be known collectively as the Apple of Discord, and what story lies behind its fascinating iconography. By the time you arrive back at the shop, you’ll be able to fully understand why Gaudí is known as ‘the master of Modernism’.
